New Logic Research, Inc., the maker of VSEP® (Vibratory Shear Enhanced Processing) membrane filtration systems, announced its participation in the official commissioning ceremony for the Australian Hardboards Water Recycling Plant in Queensland, Australia.
A Milestone Event for Sustainable Water Management
The ceremony was attended by members of the Australian Hardboards and New Logic Research executive teams, along with local business leaders and officials, including Cr. Paul Pisasale, the Mayor of Ipswich.
The newly commissioned wastewater treatment and recovery system integrates seven i84 VSEP nanofiltration modules to recover wastewater for reuse within the plant. The system is capable of processing approximately 200,000 gallons per day and operates continuously under programmable logic controller (PLC) automation.
VSEP: Proven Technology for Tough Wastewater Applications
According to Greg Johnson, CEO of New Logic Research, the Australian Hardboards project reflects growing recognition of VSEP’s performance and reliability.
“VSEP is fast becoming accepted as the best available technology for tough wastewater treatment applications in Australia,” said Johnson. “The Australian Hardboards installation represents our second Australian installation in as many months, and more will be coming online within the next year. We were honored to be part of the ceremony and to demonstrate our commitment to helping solve the Australian water shortage problem.”
Melysa Reiss, International Sales Manager for New Logic, also emphasized the importance of innovation in addressing Australia’s water challenges.
“The paradox of Australia’s decreasing water resources and increasing industrial demand requires innovative technologies to bridge the gap,” said Reiss. “We are proud to have the opportunity to do just that for Australian Hardboards and other firms throughout the continent.”
Addressing Australia’s Water Shortage Crisis
Prolonged drought and rapid population growth have created a water supply crisis across many parts of Australia. In some regions, water levels have fallen to just 30 percent of normal capacity. Local water districts have responded with strict conservation measures, including Level 4 water restrictions in Brisbane that mandate reduced consumption.
By implementing the VSEP wastewater recycling system, Australian Hardboards (AHL) has dramatically reduced its reliance on fresh water. The company’s conservation efforts have saved the equivalent of 2,000 homes’ worth of annual water supply, setting a benchmark for industrial sustainability and serving as a model project for other industries across Australia.
