Series P50
The VSEP Series P-50 is the "low- flow" version of the Series i. This unit is a larger version of the Series LP, the Lab/Pilot model. The system has 50 ft2 of membrane area.
For most Microfiltration and Ultrafiltration applications, the Series P-50 will filter between 1.5 and 7 gallons per minute (6-28 liters per minute). For Nanofiltration and RO applications, the system will filter approximately .5 to 2 gallons per minute (2-8 liters per minute). These ranges will vary according to feed material, pressure, temperature, and membrane selection.
The P-50 system includes the VSEP, a Feed Pump, a 15 gallon Cleaning Tank, and connecting hoses.
VSEP P-50 Intended Use
The P-50 can be used for pilot test work to estimate full scale system that would be required or for production use filtering lower flow rates. The system is manual and requires operator interface during start up and shut downs. Operation using the actuated valve scheme allows for the establishment of the concentration gradient inside the filter module. The Filter Pack consists of a series of membrane disks separated by spacing trays and o-ring gaskets. Feed is pumped in through the top of the Filter Pack and permeate exits as well from the top. Concentrate exits from the bottom of the filter pack. The amount of concentrate output can be controlled using a time-cycled output valve. By adjusting the time cycle of the valve, the concentrate thickness or density can be optimized.
